2023 – 2024 Highlights
This was a very good season for the BSM boys basketball team. Their record of 19-10 earned the Metro West Conference title and the boys received the #1 seed in the Section 6AAA tournament. The Red Knights beat Bloomington Kennedy 87-38 in the quarterfinals and topped Richfield by a score of 91-72 in the semifinals before falling to Orono 86-84 in double overtime for the right to go to the MSHSL State Tournament.

Orono’s half-court shot as time expired gave the Spartans boys basketball team an 86-84 win over Benilde-St. Margaret’s in the Section 6AAA championship game. The shot was the third of three late-game buzzer-beaters in the game. Benilde-St. Margaret’s Jaleel Donley banked in a three-pointer at the end of regulation to tie the score at 70, sending the game to overtime. Orono’s lay-in beat the buzzer at the end of the first overtime, tying the game at 73. BSM finishes its season with a 19-10 record. Orono (19-10) is in the state tournament for the second year in a row.
