Record Number of Red Knights Head to State

Congratulations to our Red Knights who qualified for the MSHSL State boys’ swim & dive meet this year!

The Benilde-St. Margaret’s boys’ swim and dive team recorded a strong collection of section awards preparing them for the highly anticipated MSHSL State swim & dive meet this week.

The successful showing at the Section 2A finals on February 28 was a demonstration of talent, hard work, and determination with BSM hitting a new Sections score record of 381 total points.

BSM finished in third place overall, with 11 individual swims and 14 total swims, including relays, qualifying for State. “This is the most individual and total swims that have qualified for State in the team’s history,” said head coach Ryan Miksch. This year’s Red Knights earned two section titles, their first since 2017. Josh Peters ’28 will represent BSM at State in the 500 Freestyle and Joey Sandhoefer ’25 will compete for BSM in the 100 Breaststroke.

“This team has more talent than we’ve ever had before,” Miksch said,  “When you mix that with the culture of great work ethic, you get the driver of success we’ve had all season.”
