After months of dedication, quick thinking, and teamwork, the BSM quiz bowl team has secured a spot at the Minnesota High School Quiz Bowl competition. The team, named The Bowler Express in honor of former BSM math teacher Dan Bowler, will be competing against some of the top teams in the region on Thursday, Feb. 13 at Burnsville High School.

Quiz bowl members compete in academic competition with questions from a variety of topics, including history, geography, social sciences, and more. Teams consist of four members competing in five oral rounds. The BSM team place 9th at the state tournament last year and were determined to improve on that ranking this year.
“It’s been a lot of fun watching The Bowler Express dominate in competitions this year,” Dan Murray, BSM social studies teacher and one of the quiz bowl advisors shared. “I really think they have an excellent chance of bringing home another trophy, but the competition is going to be tough – they’ll have to bring their A game.”
As they prepare for the upcoming challenge, the team remains focused and committed to bringing home a strong finish.

Congratulations to the BSM quiz bowl team on this incredible achievement. We wish you the best of luck at state! Go Red Knights!
