Link Crew
BSM

General Information:

Link Crew is a national program though the Boomerang Project that helps new students acclimate to existing high school culture. Link Crew leaders are in charge of Freshman orientation, working to build connections within the grade and across all grade levels. During the year, Link Crew leaders help with various activities that occur within the freshman class, including running the newly found Freshman Cup competition. Link Leaders also serve as transfer student helpers during the first week of school for new students who are not in ninth grade.

The “Crew” is committed to helping classmates achieve success in their first year at BSM by helping them build meaningful relationships, a level of comfort and familiarity on campus, and a positive outlook for the daily school experience.

Link Crew provides mentors with opportunities to acquire and hone leadership skills, while both welcoming and supporting freshman and new students throughout their first year at BSM.

Link Crew leaders are chosen from a large pool of applicants and have met the qualifications of being good role models and positive leaders on campus. The students chosen for each year’s Link Crew embody the culture at BSM and represent all students here at BSM.

Each new student is assigned a group of junior and senior Link Crew leaders as mentors and meet regularly throughout the school year.

Advisers: John Groess, Mary Seppala and Max Johnson
