Lacrosse Teams Make Consecutive State Runs

Congratulations to our boys’ lacrosse team for advancing to the 2024 Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Lacrosse State tournament! 

The Red Knights displayed their determination once again, qualifying for the state tournament with an 11-6 win over Wayzata to take home the Section 5A championship title on Wednesday, June 5.

“It’s a big achievement making it back to the state tournament,” said head coach Giuseppe Palermo. “Our guys are focused and hungry to keep extending our time together. At this time of the year, you can’t take anything for granted. We are grateful to have ONE MORE DAY together as a family.”

The BSM boys’ lacrosse team has finished in the top 3 in six of the last seven years, including back-to-back State Titles in 2021 and 2022 (there was no tournament in 2020 due to Covid-19.)

Tournament seeds was determined on Saturday, June 8.

BSM is seeded #1 and will play Centennial in the quarterfinals at Eden Prairie High School on Tuesday, June 11 at 5 p.m.

The boys’ lacrosse team defeated Centennial (16-7) on June 11, and will play Eden Prairie on Thursday, June 13 at 6 p.m.


Girls’ Lacrosse

Girls’ lacrosse with the Section 5A Championship trophy

The defending state champions, BSM girls’ lacrosse, are headed back to the 2024 MSHSL Lacrosse State Tournament after defeating Champlin Park 9-5 and capturing the Section 5A championship title on Wednesday, June 5.

“We’re so proud of our twelve seniors that made history for BSM girls lacrosse. They are going to the state tournament four years in a row because they believe in themselves and trust the process,” said head coach Ana Bowlsby.

The team secured their fourth consecutive trip to the State tournament since their first appearance in 2021.

Tournament seeds was determined on Saturday, June 8.

BSM was seeded #3 and will play Elk River / Zimmerman in the quarterfinals at Chaska High School on Tuesday, June 11 at 11 a.m. 

Updates:
The girls’ lacrosse team defeated Elk River / Zimmerman (15-10) on June 11, and will play Prior Lake at Eden Prairie High School on Thursday, June 13 at 3 p.m.

The girls’ lost to Prior Lake in overtime (10-11) and will compete in the consolation round for third place on Saturday, June 15 at 1 p.m., at Eden Prairie High School. In the consolation game, the girls’ defeated Stillwater to take third place in the 2024 MSHSL state tournament.


In related news, Gus Bell ’24 was named Mr. Lacrosse for the state of Minnesota. Fellow Red Knights, Julia Evens ’24 was named Ms. Lacrosse in the state, while Sky Rold ’24 and Maggie Graczyk ’24 were named Mr & Ms. Lacrosse runners-up for 2024.

Mr. & Ms. Lacrosse goalie runners up were Axel Esco ’24 and Grace Ortizcazarin ’24.

Congratulations to all of our Red Knight lacrosse players on another amazing season. We are BSMproud of their achievements on and off the field.
