General Information:
By participating in Youth in Government students gain valuable insights into how our government functions. Students take on important roles such as legislators, lawyers, reporters, or lobbyists, allowing them to actively participate in the government process. They will have hands-on experiences, such as preparing legislation, debating bills, crafting court briefs, and engaging in oral arguments. By participating in this program, students get to explore and understand all branches of state government—the legislative, judicial, and executive. The program spans from September to January, culminating in a four-day field trip to St. Paul. During this trip, students have the opportunity to showcase their hard work, present their bills, and immerse themselves in the workings of state government.
