Below is the complete list of BSM BBBiker Mountain bike racers who qualified for the MCA State Championship races this weekend. The riders will race up in Chisholm at the RedHead Mountain Bike Park. Middle School and Freshman races will be held on Saturday, October 12th and JV2, JV3, and Varsity races on Sunday, October 13.
BBBikers:
The BBBikers is a co-operative team between student athletes from BSM and Blake School.
Enjoy the great outdoors, ride local trails, and challenge yourself to conquer singletrack, master technical challenges, and fly through flowy berms like never before! Whether you’re a seasoned rider or just starting out, our team welcomes all skill levels. The biking community is strong and now is a great time to build on a lifelong passion.
Open to students in grades 6-12.
As part of the Minnesota Cycling Association (MCA) BSM and Blake bikers practice together, sharing coaching resources and attend races with St. Louis Park mountain bike team. SLP riders race and score separately from the BBBikers but we all benefit from the advantages of the larger combined team for practices and coaching resources.
The 2024 official mountain bike season runs from July 1st – October 13th. (Yes, we start in JULY!)
Team practices are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6-7:30pm on the Theo Wirth trails. Riders are broken into pods, small groups of riders based on their experience and age. All pods are accompanied by coaches, so parents we are always looking for passionate bikers to join us at all levels as well!
Middle school riders race on Saturday, High school riders race on Sunday. Racing and how many races a rider registers for is up to you but it is HIGHLY recommended! The team experience of attending race weekends is exciting and extremely supportive of all rider accomplishments. You are in for a treat if this is your first opportunity to attend a mountain bike race. The Minnesota Cycling Association (MCA) does a wonderful job of organizing races across the state.
If you wish to learn more about the team, practices, coaching, or races, please contact bbbcyclingteam@gmail.com for more details.
The Mountain Bike Team is open to 6th – 12th grade student athletes interested in learning the skills and building the endurance to ride on off-road dirt (“singletrack”) trails. The team practices and provides racing opportunities under the MN Cycling Association. The season starts in mid-July with racing starting in late August / early September, ending in mid-October.

Red Knight Mountain Bikers Compete at State
Congratulations to the “BBBiker” mountain bike team, who recently competed in the Minnesota Cycling Association State Championship races.
Mountain biking heads to state
The BSM mountain biking team, BBBikers, has a combined team with The Blake School to make the team bigger and more competitive at larger races. The team is part of the Minnesota Cycling Association (MCA), and often practices with the St. Louis Park mountain bike team. The mountain biking season recently ended strong: the team sent nine BSM racers to the state tournament
